1. Acrex India 2024 Asserts India’s Confidence and Vision
This largest HVAC show in South Asia and the sixth-largest in the world presented the participants with an opportunity to witness the latest in building HVAC systems, technology, components, and services through exhibits by about 450 exhibitors from India and abroad. The booths included a Startup Pavilion and an Innovation Zone. A special business-to-business (B2B) area was earmarked for prearranged, focused meetings between the exhibitors and invited buyers.

2. French HVAC Market Shows Striking Contrasts in 2023
Sales of air-to-water (ATW) heat pumps declined markedly in France in 2023. Total sales amounted to 306,534 units, compared with 355,473 units in 2022, indicating that sales dropped by 48,939 units, a 14% decrease. However, air-to-air (ATA) heat pumps achieved 13% year-on-year growth in 2023.

3. Mitsubishi Electric in Scotland Promotes Heat Pump Culture
Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Systems Europe (M-ACE) was established in Scotland, the United Kingdom, in 1993 and started producing heat pump air conditioners in 1994. JARN visited the factory in the fall of 2023, when the company celebrated its 30th anniversary, and gained an insight into the factory and community-based activities from Masao Nagano, president and director of M-ACE.

4. Indonesian RAC Market Report in 2023
In 2023, Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) registered negative growth of 2%. However, the construction industry, which accounts for a large proportion of GDP with about 18%, has grown due to active infrastructure construction. Buoyed by this booming construction industry, the Indonesian room air conditioner (RAC) market performed well in 2023, and is estimated to have increased by 11% to about 2.8 million units compared with 2022.

5. Gree Chiller Smart Production (Zhuhai) Base Begins Operations
Gree held a grand opening ceremony in Zhuhai for its Chiller Green Smart Production (Zhuhai) Base, at the end of January. Boasting a total investment of RMB 1.7 billion (about US$ 236.5 million), the Gree Chiller Green Smart Production (Zhuhai) Base is an industry leading pilot factory featuring automation, intelligence and reduced manpower. It is the only commercial air conditioner (CAC) production base in the industry that offers full-process manufacturing capability, which inherits the design and production concepts of Green, High Efficiency, and Intelligence.
