2.11 Latin America

The market size of Latin American countries in 2007 is estimated to have grown to 4.1 million units, an increase of 13 % from 2006. The ductless split type accounts for about 60% of the market and the rest is made up of window type units. Unitary types account for only a few %. One quarter of ductless split units are of the heat pump type and the rest are cooling only. It is expected that ductless splits will further replace window units.
