The air pollution in China, which is becoming increasingly serious, has triggered a surge in demand for Japanese air purifiers. High-end units priced at ￥60,000 or more are selling like hotcakes and the number of units sold is reaching a level 2-3 times as high as that in the previous year, as a major Japanese newspaper reports.
