The prospects for an Italian general economic recovery look bleak following a 2.3% fall in 2012 and a further 0.4% expected this year. Exports grew marginally in 2012 and this could be a source of future growth following rising global demand. In 2012, penetration of air conditioning reached 44% in the commercial sector and 21% in the residential sector.
