Natural gas is inexpensive and the most common source of energy for space heating in the United States. Gas furnace systems typically heat U.S. homes, accounting for 80-90% of the market. The market scale for hot-water heating using a boiler is about 300,000 units per year, much lower than for gas furnaces.
