Are R32 VRFs Poised to Expand in Japan and in the World?

Daikin plans to release a Green Multi Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system from August 2018, adopting the hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant R32 for the first time in the industry. R32 is a lower global warming (GWP) refrigerant which is far more environmentally than its predecessors, and generates energy savings. However, its mild flammability has limited its application range in the past.
