1. ACREX 2018 Symbolizes Upbeat Performance and Optimism of HVAC&R Industry
ACREX India 2018 was held from Feb 22nd to 24th in the backdrop of two significant developments. A TechSci research report says that the Indian HVAC&R market scale will grow from the current US$ 4 billion to US$ 7.7 billion by 2022; and the government has given the cold chain – growing at a breakneck compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19– 20% – the status of an infrastructure sector.

2. ISK-Sodex 2018 Attracts Record Number of Visitors
ISK-Sodex Istanbul 2018 attracted over 1,100 exhibitors during the four day event (from Feb 7th to 10th), and created huge business opportunities. This year’s edition of ISK-Sodex also recorded the largest number of visitors ever: over 84,900 sector professionals from 93 countries visited the fair, an increase of 14% compared with the previous edition. Moreover, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, ISKSODEX hosted more than 500 international buyers.

3. European Refrigeration Compressor Market in 2017
The European refrigeration compressor market in 2017 was stable. The trend observed in 2016 concerning the heat pump sector continued, particularly in the French and German markets. This trend might remain stable due to European Union (EU) targets for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and reduction of CO2 emissions.

4. Refrigerant Prices Rise Due to Rising Costs and Demand in China
Impacted by production restrictions due to environmental issues, fluorite, a raw material of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid, in the upstream has been in short supply, leading to a refrigerant price rise. Moreover, the production capacity of air conditioners increased markedly in 2018, generating rising demand for R32 and R410A refrigerants. The refrigerant market will see continuously rising prices in the near future.

5. Ebara Unveils Highly Efficient Centrifugal Chillers Using AMOLEA
Ebara Refrigeration Equipment & Systems is soon to provide highly efficient RTBA-type centrifugal chillers that adopt the low-GWP refrigerant HCFO-1224yd(Z) (Asahi Glass-made AMOLEA1224yd). The product lineup of these chillers ranges from 774 kW (220 USRT) to 4,395 kW (1,250 USRT). The HCFO-1224yd(Z) refrigerant imposes an extremely light burden on the environment, as its GWP is less than one. In addition, it is nonflammable and is a low-pressure refrigerant that is easy to handle.
