2. Daikin Europe Celebrates 45th Anniversary in Style
Daikin Europe recently held a grand event in Ostend, Belgium, to celebrate 45 years of successful operations in Europe. Mr. Inoue, chairman of Daikin, Mr. Togawa, president and CEO of Daikin, and other senior management representatives attended the celebration. On the first day of the two-day celebration, Daikin welcomed 553 VIP guests including official representatives, clients, and partners. The celebrations culminated with the gathering of 2,300 Daikin staff and guests from across the EMEA region on the second day.

3. India’s Cooling Demand to Increase Eight Fold in 20 Years
India’s total cooling requirement is expected to increase eight-fold in the next 20 years, with room air conditioners (RACs) consuming more than half of the energy required for space cooling in the country by 2037–2038.

4. China-made Products Attract Foreign Buyers at Canton Fai
The 124th China Import and Export Fair 2018 (Canton Fair 2018) was held from October 15 to November 4 at Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou. During Phase 1 of the fair, electronics and household electrical appliances were exhibited during the period spanning October 15 to 18. Many Chinese air conditioner manufacturers also exhibited their products and promoted them for foreign buyers.

5. Panasonic and AGC to Jointly Develop Vacuum Insulated Glass
On October 15, Panasonic and AGC announced that both companies have agreed to partner in order to develop vacuum-insulated glass with the industry’s highest class of insulation performance, and release the product for sale in the European market. AGC will install a new production line for producing vacuum-insulated glass at its plant in Belgium, with a scheduled sales launch in the European housing market in March 2019.
