World ATW Heat Pump Market: Environmental Issues

Europe has accelerated substitution of refrigerants, implementing a quota system applying to refrigerants. Certain refrigerants used by the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industries are subject to the quota system, leading to a rising price of R410A. Just like air conditioners, ATW heat pumps also face the issue of refrigerant quotas. R32 has just one-third of the GWP of R410A.
