1. Mitsubishi Electric Grabs Opportunities Created by Evolving Compressor Business Environments

2. Indian Market Trends
The primary market – billing by manufacturers to channel partners – for room air conditioners (RACs) saw a 16% growth during the period from January to June 2019. Primary sales of RACs reached 3.54 million units. Voltas, which claims growth of over 25% during this period, has maintained its top ranking. Daikin, which has scaled up its distribution network to 8,000 sales outlets, also claims a high growth of 30%.

3. Honeywell and 7-Eleven Collaborate to Reduce Carbon Footprint
On July 24, 2019, Honeywell and 7-Eleven announced the adoption of Honeywell Solstice N40 (R448A) refrigerant as 7-Eleven’s standard for remote condensers supporting their refrigeration cases installed across the United States and Canada. 7-Eleven also selected Honeywell’s lower global warming potential (GWP) alternative for retail refrigeration in Japan last year, becoming the first leading retail chain in the country to adopt the refrigerant. Solstice N40 is the most widely accepted, lowest GWP, nonflammable replacement for R404A in stores globally.

4. Carbon Tax in France
The HFC tax generated a great deal of discussion among manufacturers and end-users prior to its approval by the French government. Now that this tax has been approved by the government, it will enter into force on January 1, 2021. The tax targets all HFCs, including mixtures of HFCs and hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) which are sometimes described incorrectly by certain suppliers as HFOs, and applies to virgin HFCs, but not to recycled or regenerated HFCs placed on the market.

5. ISK-SODEX Istanbul to Spotlight Turkey’s Promising HVAC&R Industry
The next session of ISK-SODEX Istanbul will be held at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Turkey, from October 2–5, 2019. ISK-SODEX 2019 will be organized by Hannover Messe Sodeks Fuarcilik, the Turkish office of Deutsche Messe, with the cooperation of Turkish heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry associations including İSKİD, the Turkish air conditioning and refrigeration manufacturers’ association.
