1. Heat Pump Sales Soar in France
PAC&Clim’Info has provided figures showing that sales of air-to-water (ATW) and air-to-air (ATA) heat pumps exploded in France during the first eight months of 2019. Driven by the French government’s policy promoting the phase out of residential heating systems operating on domestic fuel announced early in 2019, sales of ATW heat pumps rose 70% during the period spanning January to August compared with the same period in 2018. The residential ATA heat pump market is also flourishing in France. With sales up by 31% during the first eight months of 2019 compared with the same period the previous year, sales are expected to break a new record in 2019.

2. Refrigeration & HVAC Exhibition Shows Indonesian Market Potential
Refrigeration & Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (R&HVAC) Indonesia, the largest refrigeration and climate control exhibition in Indonesia, presented a robust business-to-business (B2B) platform at Jakarta International Expo from October 9 to 11, 2019. Among the displayed products and technologies, four current trends emerged; green products, air quality, artificial intelligence (AI), and electronic commerce.

3. Opteon XL41 and XL55 Selected by G.I. Industrial Holding
On November 14, 2019, Chemours announced that G.I. Industrial Holding has adopted Opteon XL41 (R454B) and Opteon XL55 (R452B) low global warming potential (GWP) hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerants as an R410A replacement for their chiller systems. The selection of Opteon XL refrigerants by G.I. Industrial Holding has been made in close collaboration with Chemours and Italian distributor Rivoira Refrigerant Gases.

4. Southeast Asian Chiller Market during 2018
During 2018, the total Southeast Asian market scale for chillers was US$ 685 million, representing growth of 5% over the previous year. Screw chillers clocked the maximum growth at 14%. Scroll chillers grew at 8%, while centrifugal chillers had a modest growth of 3.5%. The market scale for air-side equipment – air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units (FCUs) – was pegged at US$ 300 million, showing robust 9 % growth.

5. China Cold Chain Logistics Market Scale Rises Year on Year
 According to data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), China’s cold chain logistics industry has seen rising revenue year on year from 2012 to 2018, when it recorded a high revenue of RMB 288.6 billion (US$ 41 billion). By 2020, the size of China’s cold chain logistics market is expected to reach RMB 470 billion (US$ 67 billion).
