1. Heat Waves Come Early and Brazil’s AC Market Growth Rate Exceeds 20%
In Brazil, which has entered an early summer, although the weather is still relatively cool in southern cities such as Sao Paulo, the weather in the North has begun to heat up, and the weather in the Midwest is very hot. It is said that the heat wave will last until February next year.  Based on the first 10 months of 2019, it can be estimated that the year-on-year growth rate of the Brazilian air conditioning market is 20%, and market demand will exceed 3.5 million units in the whole year.

2. Guangdong Chigo Heating and Ventilation Equipment (GCHV) Professionalism Creates Quality Products
Since it was founded in 2011, GCHV has seen a sales increase from the initial RMB 200 million (US$ 28 million) to RMB 2.8 billion (US$ 400 million) last year, an almost 15-fold increase in eight years. Impressed by the excellent performance of GCHV in the central air conditioning market in recent years, JARN made a special visit to its headquarters in Foshan, Guangdong Province, to interview Zhang Quan, chairman of GCHV, to explore the secret underlying the company’s success.

3. AHRI Board Members Meet with Vice President Pence
AHRI Chairman John Galyen, President & CEO Stephen Yurek, and several members of the AHRI Board of Directors met December 5 at the White House with Vice President Mike Pence to discuss the industry’s support for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the AIM Act (S. 2754). The AHRI contingent expressed industry’s belief that the USMCA and the AIM Act both would boost the U.S. competitiveness and manufacturing, while increasing jobs and growing the U.S. economy.

4. Refcold India Showcases Future Trends in Refrigeration and Cold Chain
The second edition of Refcold India was held at Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana State, from November 21 to 23. It was organized by Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and co-organized by NürnbergMesse. The government of Telangana was the State Partner.

5. Daikin Allocates US$ 100 Million for Global Startup Investments
Daikin has recently set aside US$ 100 million for use in investments targeting startup companies worldwide over a five-year period until 2024. In addition, Daikin will establish the Technology and Innovation Center CVC Office to promote collaboration with startup companies as a means to accelerate open innovation integrating technologies and knowledge from both inside and outside the company.
