1. HVAC&R Industry Seeking Post-pandemic Opportunities
The fight against the novel coronavirus is expected to be long term.  Ideally, the economy should not be stagnant while protecting human lives, but the current global economy is shrouded in a sense of obstruction and there is still no way out. Nevertheless, HVAC&R manufacturers are working hard to build up endurance in order to survive the crisis and to increase their strengths, targeting markets that may develop after the end of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

2. EuroShop 2020 Showcases Sustainable Refrigeration Equipment
EuroShop, the world’s No. 1 retail trade fair, was held on February 16 to 20, 2020 at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. On the exhibition floor, 2,300 exhibitors from 57 nations exhibited their latest innovations addressing market trends.

3. Chemours Opteon XL 41 (R454B) refrigerant Has Benefits of Low GWP and Low Cost
At 2020 AHR Expo held in Orlando, Florida, the United States, at the beginning of February, JARN’s reporters visited Chemours’ booth and were welcomed by Diego Boeri, vice president, Fluorochemicals, Chemours International Operations, and Joseph T. 4. On-line Channel Accounts for 41.2% of Home Electronics Sales in 2019
According to the 2019 China Home Electronics Market Report released by China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), retail sales of home electronics in China recorded RMB 891 billion (US$ 125 billion) in 2019, a 3.8% decrease year on year. Of them, retail sales of air conditioners reached RMB 216 billion (US$ 30 billion) and refrigerators amounted to RMB 99.5 billion (US$ 14 billion). Despite such a weak market situation, on-line sales increased by 11.6% in 2019, accounting for 41.2% of total retail sales, exceeding 40% for the first time on a whole year basis.

5. Musings on HVAC&R - Sterilization Functions of AC Systems
The novel coronavirus has spread worldwide, and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic in early March. The spread of the novel coronavirus restricts the movement of people and goods, and has a great impact on all activities, affecting economies, daily lives, and events. Air conditioning systems not only control the temperature and humidity of a room, but also condition the indoor air quality (IAQ) with functions ensuring air purification and sterilization and elimination of viruses and bacteria. Let’s study these functions in the current context.
