1. Daikin & Rotex Merge to Expand European Heating Business
-Targeting Over €100 M in Heating Sales by 2025 in Germany-
By combining its expertise in air conditioning technology with heating, which is a strong point of Rotex, Daikin continues to expand its presence in Germany, focusing even more on customer needs, while continuing sustainable growth and innovation. Further emphasis is placed on the heating market in Germany, in particular on heat pumps. New business units were established for the various markets and product areas, with the new ‘Heating’ Daikin Business Unit responsible for strategy development and product alignment in the heating sector.

2. Voltas Adds to Its Manufacturing Capacity
Voltas has enhanced its manufacturing capabilities with two large greenfield facilities at Waghodia and Sanand in Gujarat. Another unit is being planned at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The company has commenced operations at the plant in Waghodia. This plant is spread over a 13-hectare site with an investment of INR 650 million (US$ 8.7 million). It will manufacture a range of HVAC&R equipment from 2 to 2,000 tons for commercial buildings, and public and industrial infrastructure. It also houses well-equipped psychrometric laboratories and AHRI-certified test beds for chillers.

3. Carrier Offers Healthy Building Solutions to Improve Air Quality for Malls
Carrier’s Safe Start Service helps ensure that buildings are ready for occupancy through a rigorous recommissioning of HVAC equipment and the implementation of best practices, which may be executed remotely. A key component of this service is an IAQ Assessment, which tests air quality to help ensure optimal filtration, ventilation, airflow, controls and more. Carrier’s experts can also develop and implement corporate-wide IAQ engineering standards.

4. Haier Joins Forces with a Thai Bank to Launch Smart Home Project
Haier has teamed up with Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) in Thailand for ‘Digital Payment Solutions for Smart Sharing’ cooperation. Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in May, SCB will connect its digital payment solutions with the Haier smart home system. The collaboration will start with a ‘Smart Sharing Air Conditioning Lets You Chill at 4 Baht’ campaign aiming to transform home appliance usage by allowing users to pay their air conditioning electrical bills based on actual usage.
