1. Chillventa Successfully Stages Its First Virtual Exhibition, eSpecial
Chillventa – International Exhibition of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilation, and Heat Pumps, was held as a virtual exhibition called eSpecial for the first time in its history, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The industry very much needed an event of this kind, as was proven by statistics for the three-day event: 30 presentations at Chillventa Congress, 75 product presentations, more than 300 roundtables involving 207 exhibitors and around 6,800 active participants who shared information at the highest professional level in more than 100,000 chat messages and in over 1,200 video calls during the period spanning October 13 to 15, 2020.

2. New Energy Efficiency Regulation to Promote Inverter ACs in Brazil
The new regulation will clarify the high energy-saving performance of inverter air conditioners and the difference in performance among inverter models. Although high-performance inverter models have a higher initial cost, if their lower lifetime operational cost due to reduced power consumption is widely recognized, it is thought that the shift to high-performance inverter air conditioners will proceed in Brazil.

3. High Season Not Over for Cooper&Hunter
As air conditioning’s high season comes to an end, Cooper&Hunter is switching gears to promote its Hyper Heat systems with cold state targeted literature, branded promotional materials, a new video advertisement on the company’s YouTube channel, and specialized training sessions for contractors and distributors. The campaign above all targets consumers who use mini-splits as a main or supplementary source of heat, even in extreme climates.

4. Rail Transport Becomes a Hot Segment in China’s CAC Market
Driven by new construction projects, rail transport has become a hot segment in the commercial air conditioner market. The contract value of metro line projects in Shenzhen alone exceeded RMB 400 million (US$ 59.6 million). In addition, more and more domestic brands won bids in rail transport projects. In the context of such a big business opportunity, some commercial air conditioner enterprises have established specific sales teams for the rail transport business, aiming at further exploring this segment.

5. Panasonic Realizes RAC and Air Purifier/Humidifier via IoT Operation
Panasonic began selling Eolia room air conditioners (RACs) and air purifiers/humidifiers that can operate in linkage with each other via Internet of Things (IoT). It is the first time that Panasonic’s indoor air quality (IAQ)-oriented products have been linked in operation via IoT.
