2. Mitsubishi Electric Strengthening Power Semiconductor Business
According to Mitsubishi Electric, the company strengthened its semiconductor production system in Japan last year to meet this increase in demand. The company is also working to strengthen its power semiconductor business in China. Currently, in China, production of EVs and demand for micro controller units are increasing, and power semiconductors are in short supply. However, Mitsubishi Electric is said to be able to supply a sufficient number of power semiconductors to Chinese customers from these two bases, the China factory and the Fukuoka factory in Japan. In China, the conversion to inverter air conditioners is accelerating, and demand for power semiconductors is expected to increase, but the company has the capacity to handle this for the time being.
