1. Mitsubishi Electric to Provide Integrated Power Protection and IT Cooling
On April 1, 2021, Mitsubishi Electric announced a strategic alliance between US-based Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (MEPPI) Uninterruptible Power Supplies Division and Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) headquartered in Italy. This strategic alliance will integrate MEHITS and MEPPI IT cooling solutions and uninterruptible power supplies, and offer turnkey solutions and services for data center applications in North American markets.

2. French Heat Pump Market in COVID-19 Context
The COVID-19 pandemic severely affected the French heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) sector in 2020. The building sector was particularly affected, with a 6.9% decrease in construction projects and a 14.9% drop in the number of building permits granted. However, the renovation segment was less affected. The pandemic has raised awareness of the need to ensure optimal indoor air quality (IAQ).

3. ISH digital 2021 Focuses on European Green Deal as Theme
Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, ISH, the world’s leading trade fair for HVAC + Water, brought the sector together digitally from March 22 to 26, 2021. The first digital edition of ISH put the spotlight on themes of social, political, and economic importance. The European Green Deal was one of the important future-oriented themes in the Energy section of ISH digital 2021 with presentations of heating solutions and systems that make a decisive contribution to achieving climate targets.

4. Asian Heat Pump Thermal Storage Technologies Network Virtually Holds Tokyo Workshop
On February 25, 2021, AHPNW held the Tokyo Workshop virtually. At this year’s Tokyo Workshop,
the activities of seven Asian members countries were summarized based on the Tokyo Declaration that was implemented at the previous workshop in 2017, and the future role of the related parties was clarified.

5. Cold Chain Logistics in China Saw its Growth Rate Exceed 19.2%
According to China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), from 2016 to 2020, China has seen an average annual growth rate of the market volume in cold chain logistics exceeding 19.2%. In 2020, the total market value of cold chain logistics in China reached RMB 4.81 trillion (US$ 735.27 billion), with total revenues up to RMB 288.6 billion (US$ 44.12 billion) in cold chain logistics, indicating over 20% year-on-year growth. And the market value of cold chain logistics in China is expected to break RMB 550 billion (US$ 84.07 billion) in 2025.
