Panasonic Holds New Factory Groundbreaking Ceremony

According to Chinese media, on June 23, Panasonic Appliances in Hangzhou held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory. A smart home appliances factory with area of 30 acres (121,406 m2) will be established with a total investment of RMB 300 million (about US$ 46.3 million). The new factory is expected to be put into operation in April, 2022. Within five years of completion, the company estimates that it will have a total production value up to RMB 8 billion (about US$ 1.23 billion), mainly producing washing machine components and dish washers.
