1. U.S. HVAC&R Industry Focusing on IT Services - Report on 2022 AHR Expo
The 2022 AHR Expo was held from January 31 to February 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the United States. As an energetic face-to-face event after forced cancellation in 2021, the exhibition was much more successful than expected, even if some people from abroad could not attend due to travel restrictions within the framework of the pandemic. Indeed, the exhibition attracted 30,678 visitors and 1,573 exhibitors, with 281 from abroad.

2. Impacts of Russia–Ukraine Crisis on China’s RAC Exports
For Chinese RAC manufacturers, exports to Russia are projected to decline at least this year, due to an economic depression, currency depreciation, rising raw material prices, and trade setbacks, etc. However, the outlook for the future could be different. If economic sanctions on Russia are prolonged, Chinese and Russian cooperation could expand, bringing opportunities to Chinese RAC manufacturers.

4. Chinese Room Air Conditioner Exports Increases by 14% in 2021
According to statistics from China Customs, the export volume of room air conditioners (RACs) reached 4.08 million units in December, 2021, growing by 14% year on year; and the cumulative export volume reached 52.77 million units from January to December, with a cumulative value that exceeded RMB 52.3 billion (about US$ 8.29 billion), growing by 9.3% year on year.

5. Sharp Builds New Air Conditioner Factory in Indonesia
The new factory is scheduled to start operations in April 2023 as a production and export base for Indonesia and other Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. The investment amount is about ¥4 billion (about US$ 34.8 million) and the production capacity will be 900,000 units/per year.
