2. AC Manufacturers Gear up for Busy Summer in India
The decline in COVID-19 cases due to the abatement of the third wave of the pandemic has led to a spurt in demand for air conditioners. The industry expects market scale of over 6.5 million this calendar year, up from 5.2 million in the last year but below 7 million in 2019. Air conditioner manufacturers have started expanding production capacities back to pre-pandemic levels. Most manufacturers have increased production levels from 40 to 50% in January to 80 to 90% in February and plan to ramp up further from March by adding more shifts or lines.

3. Expert.ai Offers Benefits of AI for HVAC&R Industry
On behalf of JARN, Jacques Gandini, managing director of Studio Gandini in Italy, interviewed Alessandro Monico, vice president of Italy Sales, Corporate Division of expert.ai, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) company focused on language understanding, to explore the opportunities and advanced tools that AI offers for helping HVAC&R companies quickly and accurately analyze the data contained in reports, e-mails, service requests, technical manuals, and internal documentation.

4. Commercial Air Conditioner Market Increases by over 25% in 2021
According to statistics from Aircon. com, the first half of 2021 saw the CAC market increase by over 35% in China, but that growth rate dropped to only 20% in the second half of the year. Overall, the whole year saw a growth rate of over 25%, hitting a record high in the past decade.

5. Musings on HVAC&R - Various Advantages of Ventilation
Air conditioners, airtightness and heat insulation of buildings, and ventilation are intertwined. It would be currently recommended to combine highly efficient air conditioners, a highly airtight and highly insulated building, and balanced ventilation with heat recovery. However, since the cost of realizing this combination is high, it is necessary to integrate the above-mentioned three factors, with consideration of the priority according to the time, place, and situation. It is also important to research and develop systems that effectively use natural ventilation. A lifestyle that makes good use of natural ventilation may be important.
