1. Viessmann Group to Invest €1 Billion in Heat Pumps and Green Solutions
On May 2, 2022, the Viessmann Group announced that it will invest €1 billion (about US$ 1.05 billion) in the next three years to extend its heat pump and green climate solutions portfolio. The investments are targeted to expand the family company’s manufacturing footprint and research and development (R&D) labs, thereby also strengthening Europe’s geopolitical energy independence.

2. Italian AC Market Records Historical Growth in 2021
According to a survey conducted by Assoclima, in 2021, the overall domestic production of air-conditioning products was worth about €825 million (about US$ 869 million), an increase of 11% compared with 2020 and 4% compared with 2019, and the total air-conditioning market exceeded €2.26 million (about US$ 2.38 million), up by 37% from 2020 and by 33% from 2019.

3. The 131st Canton Fair Achieves Record-high Results
The 131st China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, was held from April 15 to 24, 2022 in Guangzhou City. During the 10-day online event, a record-high over 25,000 exhibitors from China and abroad demonstrated more than 3 million products. At this Canton Fair, Chinese leading heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) manufacturers also promoted their innovative products and technologies which attracted a great deal of attention.

4. Johnson Controls-Hitachi Transforms HQ into Showrooms/Training Facili
Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning has transformed its Dallas-area headquarters into an immersive product showroom and training facility. The new Customer Experience Center, which opened on April 20 in Irving, Texas, features commercial, light commercial and residential ductless HVAC equipment in two showrooms along with fully operational equipment in an interactive, state-of-the-art training lab.

5. Cumulative Shipments of Eco Cute Exceed 8 Million Units in Japan
Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technology Center of Japan (HPTCJ) is working to expand the deployment of residential Eco Cute heat pump water heaters (HPWHs) using CO2. As of the end of March 2022, HPTCJ announced that cumulative shipments have exceeded 8 million units.
