1. Large Potential ATW heat pump Market for Renovation in Europe
European reconstruction policies and the Green Deal are not only aimed at new buildings, but at the same time bring huge opportunities for the use of various types of heat pump equipment in the residential renovation market. Europe’s goal is to improve the performance of 35 million houses by 2030 in order to achieve the goal of decarbonization. If the market size of the heat pump heating market is based on the amount of funding, the proportion of heat pumps in heating will increase to 80% in 2030.

2. Refrigerant Issues for ATW heat pump
Major manufacturers are promoting ATW heat pump systems with R32 refrigerant in the European market. The switch to R32 refrigerant is an accelerating market trend. Natural refrigerants such as R290 have excellent environmental protection characteristics, but they also have safety risks. For split-type ATW heat pump systems, the security maintenance cost of R290 can be high. Safety during manufacturing, installation and construction, after-sales service, and operation by the end-user cannot be ignored. Nevertheless, the trend of actively adopting R290 in monobloc systems has begun to pick up speed in Germany and certain other European countries.

3. US ATW Heat Pump Market in 2021
In 2021, the U.S. market scale of ATW cylinder-integrated heat pump models was 112,000 units. Monobloc or split-type ATW heat pumps are not very common in the U.S. market. The annual sales volume of the residential water heater market is large with 8 to 10 million units, while the share of HPWHs in the U.S. market is small. Using heat pumps to heat swimming pool water will create a huge business opportunity in the future. Swimming pools require a lot of warm water, and HPWHs can save at least two-thirds of the energy needed. There are huge numbers of swimming pools in the United States.

4. AUSTRALIAN Heat Pump Market in 2021
The Australian ATW heat pump market scale was 98,700 units in 2021. There is little demand for ATW heat pumps for space heating in Australia, and most ATW heat pumps are used only for hot water supply. Australia is still using electricity or gas to generate hot water in large quantities. From an environmental point of view, there is a huge potential market for heat pumps. Overseas manufacturers have been targeting this business opportunity.
