In Indonesia, the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus surged again earlier this year, but after peaking in mid-February, it declined sharply and remained relatively calm during the period spanning April to June. As a result, domestic economic activity has regained momentum. Exports have been in the black since May 2020, centering on resources. In addition, investments from Europe and the United States have increased visibly this year, and investment from China continues. Due to these positive factors, Indonesian gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2022 is projected to exceed 5%.
