GEA invests EUR 70 million in pharma technology center in Germany

GEA is investing EUR 70 million in the construction of a new pharmaceutical technology center for freeze dryers in Elsdorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Spread across some 40,000 m², the new facility, which is scheduled for completion by 2024, will stimulate better innovation opportunities and further growth in the attractive freeze-drying pharmaceuticals market. This process is essential to manufacturing a wide variety of injectable pharmaceutical products, such as vaccines. GEA is a longstanding leader in the global freeze-drying market.
