1. The Global Refrigeration Market Value in 2021
JARN estimates that the global refrigeration market value in 2021 reached US$ 107.7 billion; this includes services such as installation and maintenance, an increase of about 5.7% compared with 2020. Of this total, commercial applications recorded US$ 71.0 billion, industrial applications amounted to US$ 30.9 billion, and transportation amounted to US$ 5.8 billion.

2. The Global Commercial Refrigeration Market by Region in 2021
(Except services such as installation and maintenance)
In terms of regions, North America is the largest market in the world with a market value of US$ 15.2 billion, followed by Asia with US$ 12.7 billion, which has grown into the second-largest market, overtaking Europe. In Europe, the market was worth US$ 10.9 billion, and other markets were worth US$ 8.3 billion.

3. The Global Commercial Refrigeration Market by Equipment in 2021

In the commercial equipment sector, the RDC market is estimated to have reached US$ 23.7 billion, with beverage coolers achieving US$ 6.1 billion, ice machines reaching US$ 3.8 billion, other commercial equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and condensing units reaching US$ 7.4 billion, relevant components achieving US$ 3.6 billion, and vending machines reaching US$ 2.5 billion.

4. Panasonic to Create New Cold Chain Businesses with Its Cool Ideas
Along with Panasonic’s transition to an operating company system on April 1, 2022, Cold Chain Solutions Company (CCS) was changed to a Divisional Company of Panasonic. 5. Hitachi 6 and 8 HP Condensing Unit DC Inverter Adopting R448A
Hitachi-Johnson Controls Air Conditioning has added 6- and 8-hp Hitachi condensing unit DC inverters that use the nonflammable refrigerant R448A for the Japanese market. Consequently, this addition makes it possible to cover an extensive lineup ranging from 1 to 40 hp with next-generation refrigerant R448A for showcase, RDCs and frozen and refrigerated logistics facilities.
