Canadian demand for chillers in 2021 was 1,019 units, a 30.0% increase compared with 2020, as shown in Fig. 1, according to the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). The demand showed V-shaped recovery, from declines for two consecutive years, with a 9.0% decrease in 2019 and a 16.0% decrease in 2020, due to the pandemic.
