1. Heat Pumps Revitalize HVAC&R Industry - Report on Chillventa 2022
Chillventa kicked off in Nuremberg, Germany, on October 11, 2022, and this was the first face-to-face event in four years. Leading manufacturers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry returned with their latest products and technologies to the exhibition stage in the beautiful old city with its colorful trees. JARN covered the lively venue where cutting-edge technology competed in this historic city.

2. California to Ban Bulk HFC Sales and Accelerate HFC Phasedown
On September 30, California governor Gavin Newsom signed into law SB 1206.The new law creates gradually stricter GWP limits on refrigerants that can be sold and distributed in the state. Starting on January 1, 2025, refrigerants with a GWP of 2,200 or higher will not be permitted for sale or distribution, which will ban R404A and R507. Then in 2030, the GWP limit will fall to 1,500 and prohibit the sale and distribution of R410A and HFC blends including R407A and R407C. In 2033, the GWP limit will be lowered to 750, which will result in R134a being banned in the state.

3. Danfoss Compressors: Offering World’s Largest Compressor Portfolio through Merger with Bock
On October 10, 2022, Danfoss announced its intention to acquire Bock, a German compressor manufacturer, from Nord Holding. On this occasion, JARN interviewed Kristian Strand, president of Danfoss Commercial Compressors, and Dr. Marcus Albrecht, chief executive officer (CEO) of Bock, to hear about the details and future plans regarding this acquisition.

4. AHRI Certification for Climaveneta Air-cooled Chiller Test Lab in India
The air-cooled chillers performance test lab facility for up to 460-ton capacity of Climaveneta India has obtained certification from Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). It is now approved for the purpose of conducting AHRI certification tests on water chilling packages using the vapor compression cycle (air-cooled) in accordance with AHRI standards 550/590 and 551/591.

OMS Machinery is a leading manufacturer of high-tech heat exchangers and tube processing machines. The company’s new series of shrinkless horizontal expanders can process up to 6,000 mm coil height.
