2. Arkema Helps Its Customers Select Most Sustainable Refrigerants
At 2023 AHR Expo held at the beginning of February in Atlanta, the United States, JARN visited Arkema’s booth and interviewed Scot Swan, its business manager, Refrigerants, Fluorochemicals, to hear about next-generation refrigerants for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) applications.

3. German Manufacturers Vigorously Expanding Their Heat Pump Production Capacity
German manufacturers are aggressively expanding their heat pump production capacity. In July 2022, Viessmann Group announced its plan to build a new heat pump production site in Legnica, Poland, with an investment of over €200 million (about US$ 218 million). In September 2022, Stiebel Eltron announced that it is investing €600 million (about US$ 655 million) to increase its annual heat pump production capacity to a record 80,000 units. For the near future, the company is planning further investments of more than €600 million. This year, the raising of production capacity is an ongoing trend among German manufacturers.

4. AHRI Members at White House Meeting Discuss Heat Pump Technology
At a meeting with key climate officials at the White House on April 4, 2023, the U.S. heat pump and heat pump water heater (HPWH) manufacturers reiterated their support for positive climate action, while urging strong White House commitment to addressing consumer demand, affordability and stressing the need for the skilled workforce required for heat pump installation and maintenance.

5. Domestic Brands Present Strong Growth Momentum in 2023 CAC Chinese Market
In 2022, the Chinese commercial air conditioner (CAC) market showed a declining trend, but continuous growth is expected in the future. 2022 has seen continuous brand concentration in the CAC industry, with domestic brands now accounting for 48.55% of the market, Japanese and South Korean brands holding a 35.11% market share, and the market share for European and U.S. brands has dropped to 16.34%.
