1. European Conference on AC&R and Heat Pumps Advances Ideal Future of Industry
The 20th European Conference on the Latest Technologies in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps was held by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), Air conditioning and Refrigeration European Association (AREA), Centro Studi Galileo, etc. on June 8 and 9 at the historic Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy’s second-largest city. The conference was attended by over 270 participants, including 50 via the Internet, from 38 countries, such as policymakers, prominent scientists and researchers, and business executives.

2. JCI Acquires M&M Carnot to Enhance Its Refrigeration Portfolio
Johnson Controls (JCI) announced the acquisition of M&M Carnot, a leading provider of natural, ultra-low-global warming potential (GWP), refrigeration solutions. Based in Annapolis, Maryland, and in Trois Rivières, Quebec, Canada, M&M Carnot will add to the growing portfolio of JCI industrial refrigeration equipment operating on ultra-low-GWP refrigerant CO2. M&M Carnot is one of North America’s largest providers of transcritical CO2 solutions, including heat pumps and tailored solutions for data centers.

3. Ziehl-Abegg Expands Global Presence with New Facility in Vietnam
On July 11, Ziehl-Abegg held the official founding ceremony of its new subsidiary, Ziehl-Abegg Vietnam. A new facility is being built near Ho Chi Minh City with an investment of approximately €25 million (about US$ 27.5 million). Due to ongoing high demand from customers, construction work has already begun. Production at the new facility is scheduled to start in the first half of 2024, with full-scale production set to commence by the end of 2024.

4. Samsung Strengthens Heat Pump Business in Europe
Samsung has agreed with Germany-based SMA to start interlinking their communications, making it possible to integrate Samsung heating systems into SMA’s home energy management system. Meanwhile, Samsung Climate Solutions in the United Kingdom has unveiled its new warehouse that is enabling the company to keep pace with expanding businesses including heat pumps.

5. TICA Magnetic Bearing Technology Applied in Data Center
TICA is leading the green transition in China’s data center industry, and adopts innovative and comprehensive solutions through its magnetic bearing and exhaust heat utilization technologies. TICA Smardt magnetic bearing heat pumps have been installed in prestigious projects including the Qingshuyuan Data Center, Jinmao Data Center, NTT Group, and China Mobile, etc.
