Maine Sets Higher Heat Pump Installation Goal

On July 21, Governor Janet Mills announced that Maine had surpassed its goal to install 100,000 heat pumps two years ahead of the target date of 2025. As of June 2023, the state had issued rebates for the installation of some 104,000 heat pumps. In response, the governor announced a new goal of installing an additional 175,000 heat pumps by 2027 in homes, businesses, and public buildings.
