4. China’s Air Conditioner Exports Drop by 3.1% in RY 2023
According to China Customs statistics, the total air conditioner export volume has shrunk by 3.1% year on year from September 2022 to August2023. Economic uncertainty triggered by global inflation, as well as the continuous fermentation of the Russia-Ukraine energy crisis, have led to weakened overseas demand in the second half of 2022. In 2023, pandemic prevention measurements have been gradually loosened. This combined with lower shipping costs and high worldwide temperatures, has increased demand for air conditioners in overseas markets, and room air conditioner (RAC) export demand has gradually recovered in the first half of the year.
