1. European ATW Heat Pump Market Trends
The shift to heat pumps was expected to proceed relatively smoothly, driven by the EU’s proactive policies. However, it has become clear that things are not progressing as initially expected, due to soaring prices, delays in policy decisions, delays and reductions in subsidy implementation, and the postponement of bans on gas boilers backed by various considerations in each country. These factors, combined with consumers’ expectations regarding a return to gas heating following the unexpected drop in gas prices amid rising prices, has complicated the situation.

3. Low-GWP Refrigerant Products Stood out at C&R 2023
C&R 2023, the International Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Exhibition, was held at Ifema Madrid, Spain, on November 14 to 17, 2023. At this event that celebrated its 20th anniversary, C&R brought together 46,613 professionals from 76 countries, with international attendance accounting for 9% of the total, led by Portugal and Italy.

4. RACs in India to Need More Electricity than The Whole of Africa
India has reported over 700 heat wave events in the past five decades that have claimed over 17,000 lives, the report said. Hence, the demand for air conditioners in the country has been on the rise, tripling since 2010 to reach 24 units per 100 households. The demand for air conditioners is estimated to increasenine-fold by 2050. It is also estimated to outpace the growth in ownership of every other major householdappliance including televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines, the report said.

5. Hisense HVAC Indonesia Wins Tender for Jakarta–Bandung Railway Project
Hisense HVAC Indonesia won the Padalarang station project for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway. The station will use Hisense’s variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems. In addition, Hisense’s precision air conditioners will be used in the server rooms of all stations.
