Hussmann Expands Production Capacity for CO2 Refrigeration Equipment

On December 6, Hussmann, a Panasonic company, announced that it was expanding production capacity at its Suwanee, Georgia facility for transcritical CO2 rack systems used by food retailers. Demand for transcritical CO2 systems has been rising in the U.S. refrigeration market as part of the hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) phasedown and ahead of new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations on the use of refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP) and new construction that are set to take effect in January 2025.
