4. China’s Air Conditioner Market Increases by 7.5% in 2023
According to the latest AVC statistics, the resumption of external economic orders, along with advanced brand promotions and scorching weather conditions, resulted in the centralized release of accumulated demand combined with emergency demand in the first half of 2023, leading to a 19.5% sales value increase. Entering the third quarter, the Chinese market presented relatively big growth pressure thanks to a high base in the same period and an overdraw of earlier demand, causing a market decline of 15.7% year on year. For the whole of 2023, the air conditioner market had a sales value of RMB 211.7 billion (about US$ 29.55 billion), growing by 7.5% year on year; with a sales volume that reached 60.85 million units, a rise of 6.5% year on year.
