Air conditioning systems, especially in commercial buildings, are the biggest contributors to peak electrical loads seen on hot summer days in many countries. This is why, it should be more effective to operate the chiller during cooler nighttime temperatures, exploiting more convenient electric rates, to fill up an ice bank tank. So when cooling is needed, during peak daytime hours, the chiller works in conjunction with the Ice Bank tanks, saving energy and granting internal comfort even during the hottest days.
