EU’s New F-gas Regulation Enforced

On March 11, 2024, the new F-gas Regulation, the regulation (EU) 2024/573 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union (EU) on fluorinated greenhouse gases (GHGs), came into force with the exception of a few articles which will apply from 2025. This new regulation amended Directive (EU) 2014/517 and places stricter requirements on the use of fluorinated GHGs with higher global warming potentials (GWPs), aiming at carbon neutrality by 2050.
