1. Panasonic GREEN IMPACT - Its R290 Commercial Heat Pumps to Debut in Europe
On March 13, during the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2024 held in Milan, Italy, Panasonic held a press conference on its European business strategies and new air-to-water (ATW) heat pumps at the exhibition venue, Fiera Milano. Titled ‘Paving the way to a net zero carbon future’, Mr. Yuki Kusumi, representative director and president of Panasonic Holdings clearly expressed Panasonic’s strong commitment to the European air conditioning business.

2. Centro Studi Galileo Holds International Conference Focusing on New F-gas Regulation
On March 13 and 14, 2024, during Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) in Milan, Italy, Centro Studi Galileo (CSG) organized an international conference under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Environment, focusing on the new F-gas Regulation, which was enforced on March 11, just before the event. Titled ‘From the F-gas Regulation to Alternative Refrigerants: Impact on New and Existing Systems’, the conference consisted of two sessions.

3. Copeland to Be Stronger with Right Investments in Right Areas
In May 2023, Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry, separated from Emerson and became a standalone business. During 2024 AHR Expo held in Chicago in January, JARN visited Copeland’s booth and interviewed Ross B. Shuster who assumed the position of Copeland’s first chief executive officer (CEO).

4. Thai AC Market Growing towards High Season
Reported by bangkokbiznews, an online commercial news website in Thailand, as the high season of the Thai air conditioner market is approaching, several air conditioner brands are launching new product lines and organizing promotions. Power Buy, a Thai home electronics retail giant, mentioned that the total air conditioner market this year has shown a good expansion trend since January after the ‘Easy e-receipt’ tax rebate program was introduced. From the end of February until May this year, the temperature is estimated to be as high as 44.5℃, resulting in air conditioner sales continuing to grow. It is expected that the market will peak during April.

5. RAC Scheduled Production and Domestic Sales Increase by 17.6% in China in March
According to AVC statistics, March 2024 saw the total scheduled production volume of room air conditioners (RACs) reach 20.32 million units, up 21.6% year on year; the scheduled production volume for the domestic market reached 10.88 million units, rising by 17.6% year on year; and the scheduled production volume for export reached 9.44 million units, increasing by 26.5% year on year.
