1. Mitsubishi Electric to Strengthen Hydronic System Business in Europe through Acquisition of Aircalo
On April 2, 2024, Mitsubishi Electric’s subsidiaries, Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) and Mitsubishi Electric Europe, wholly acquired Aircalo, a French air conditioning company. Founded in 1958 in Bordeaux, Aircalo has been extending its businesses throughout Europe and North Africa. In particular, Aircalo has its strength in its broad range of HVAC products. The company has secured a large share of the local market for fan coil units (FCUs) and air handling units (AHUs).

2. MCE 2024 Showcases Solutions for Beyond Comfort
Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) was held in Milan, Italy, on March 12 to 15, 2024. JARN is providing MCE photo reports featuring highlighted exhibits of the latest heating, ventilation, air conditioning,and refrigeration (HVAC&R) solutions that go beyond comfort, in the April and May regular issues.

3. Cooling Strategies for India’s Affordable Housing
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a flagship initiative of the Government of India, is dedicated to providing affordable housing for both the urban and rural poor. This mission prioritizes the rapid construction of affordable housing units at an accessible cost within the stipulated time frame.

4. Canada Increases Heat Pump Subsidies for Nova Scotia
In February, the Government of Canada announced that it was strengthening its heat pump program for the province of Nova Scotia. The Government of Canada offers rebates of up to 15,000 Canadian dollars (C$) (about US$ 11,000) to homeowners switching from oil heating to a heat pump system under the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program.

Headquartered in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, China, and founded in 2011, Invotech is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development (R&D), manufacturing, and sales of scroll compressors. After more than 10 years of development, Invotech was listed on the ChiNext of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in July 2023, opening a new chapter in its corporate development.
