ASHRAE Expands Efforts to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Buildings with Permanent Decarbonization Committee

ATLANTA (July 1, 2024) – ASHRAE had expanded its commitment reducing of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the built environment by transitioning its building decarbonization task force into a permanent committee. 

The ASHRAE Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization (CEBD) will replace the ASHRAE Task Force for Building Decarbonization. The goal of the CEBD is to accelerate the adoption of climate change mitigation policies and reinforce ASHRAE's commitment to achieving net zero GHG emissions in operation for all new buildings by 2030.
