German Heat Pump Sales Collapse in Q1 of 2024

Manufacturers of heating systems on the German market reported a significant downturn in sales of heat generators. In the first quarter of 2024, sales fell by 29% compared with the same period last year. This is evident from the figures presented on May 2 by BDH, the federal association of the German heating industry. Heat pumps recorded the sharpest drop in sales, with a 52% drop. This corresponds to 46,000 devices in absolute terms. During the same period in 2023, manufacturers sold 96,500 heat pumps.
