Samsung Features Its New ATW Heat Pump with P290 Refrigerant

Samsung uses R290 refrigerant in its ATW heat pumps, achieving a much lower GWP than other refrigerants. Since R290 is relatively flammable, Samsung devised a five-step ignition mechanism for safety. The mechanism is divided into the following steps: refrigerant leakage, leakage unawareness, refrigerant concentration increase, ignition source accessibility, and spark generation.
