1. Carrier to Develop Next Generation Heat Pump Rooftop Units
On June 12, Carrier announced that it was partnering with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in its Better Buildings Commercial Heat Pump Accelerator program. Running from 2024 to 2027, the Commercial Heat Pump Accelerator program is designed to speed up development and adoption of heat pump packaged rooftop units to replace natural gas heating and drive higher energy efficiency and electrification of buildings in the United States.

2. MEHITS Strengthens Its Presence in the Applied HVAC Market Worldwide
Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS), a Mitsubishi Electric Group company, is accelerating its strategic investment in production and research and development (R&D) with strong support from Mitsubishi Electric.

3. Chinese AC Brands Maintain Growing Momentum in Africa
During the period spanning January to May, Chinese exports of room air conditioners (RACs) to Africa showed a growing trend, totaling 2.71 million units, up 5.2% from 2.57 million units over the same period in 2023. Chinese air conditioner brands such as Gree, Haier, Hisense, Midea, and TCL, are competitive in the African market, thanks to their advantages in terms of technology, quality, and product prices. In addition, they receive support from the Chinese government that actively promote trade cooperation with African countries.

4. ENGINEER & MARVEX Set to Drive Malaysia’s Engineering and ACMV&R Industries
ENGINEER and MARVEX 2024 are scheduled to open their doors on September 18 to 21, 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. ENGINEER is Malaysia’s engineering exhibition and conference on a multi-pronged hybrid exhibition platform, while MARVEX is a premier business and trade event for air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and refrigeration (ACMV&R) stakeholders.

5. Epta Contributes to Sustainability with Its CO2 Refrigeration Technology
